Nike Hoops Summit World Recap
Nike Hoop Summit Recap

Charles Bassey ( Twitter ) is a player that I am very familiar with. At first sight, he jumps out at you with his sturdy broad shoulders. Charles runs the floor very well for his size and is a great rebounder which was made known with his Hoop Summit record 16 rebounds. Charles also finished with 13 points which came off multiple dunks and two mid range shots. He has the ability to shoot it consistently between 15-18 feet and is very efficient. Charles plays within himself and being that he is only a junior with potentially another opportunity to play in the Hoop Summit next year I can’t wait to see his development then.
RJ ( Twitter ) is explosive and can finish with the best of them at the rim. He has great scoring instincts and excels in transition. Barrett plays with a ton of energy and passion. He is definitely the type of individual looking to win every time he steps on the floor no matter the situation. My biggest red flag however is his lack of perimeter shooting. He has good mechanics and the release looks good, but in the practice and scrimmage he really struggled finding his shot.
Kofi Cockburn: Big and physical presence. In the world practice he was giving Charles all he could handle. He knocked down a few jump shots and was able to show a nice touch around the rim. He’s also only a Junior
Jaylen Hoard: at 6’8 with a 7’1 winspan, Jaylen is a match up nightmare with his size and athleticism. I could see him as a combo forward with his ability to defend multiple positions and ability to rebound. Hoard had 15 rebounds in the game second only to Charles Bassey.
